Sanctuary
Sometimes the Christmas season can be difficult to get through. Some are grieving over the loss of a loved one. Some are far from home. Some are struggling with illness or have experienced the loss of a job. Some are lonely, struggling financially, or in conflict with another. Some hurt because of the great pain, need, and violence in our nation and world. The reasons are many. A Blue Christmas worship service names and holds space for the sadness that accompanies the season. It is a time when we acknowledge together as a church family that for some, Christmas is a difficult time of year. Even if you are not feeling blue, come lend a shoulder to someone who is. Let us gather together as the Body of Christ to support one another. The service will be a quiet, contemplative service with candles, music, silence, and prayer. We will remember the One who shares our burdens, who shows us the way to the Light and express our hope and trust in God’s goodness, faithfulness, and love. Come alone or invite a friend. This is a time for the church to be there for one another.
