    Passion for Life Concert

    3:00 PM in the Sanctuary

This year’s concert is truly special, featuring a captivating service of music and spoken word titled "Through the Veil of Time: A Musical Reflection of Faith, Remembrance, Hope, and Joy."

Prepare to be uplifted by a powerful and transformative experience of sacred music. The program showcases Mozart’s magnificent Missa in C Major (Sparrow Mass), a timeless work that beautifully embodies the essence of faith and devotion. Alongside this masterpiece, enjoy a selection of anthems from various musical eras, which will take listeners on a journey through time, showcasing how music has served as a source of spiritual expression and strength throughout the ages, each telling its own unique story of how music has nurtured faith throughout the ages. Every anthem poignantly reflects core themes of faith, remembrance, hope, and joy, providing moments of deep spiritual connection that transcend time and will resonate in your heart long after the concert ends.

We can’t wait to share this inspiring journey with you!

7:00 PM service in the Multi-Purpose Room (MPR)

This service is a meaningful and sobering prelude to the Easter weekend. We will remember Jesus' final evening with His disciples before His betrayal and crucifixion and take communion together just as Jesus took the First Communion at Passover.

7:00 PM Tenebrae service in the Sanctuary

We will observe Jesus' final hours with a Tenebrae worship service. The word "Tenebrae" comes from the Latin mean "darkness." The Tenebrae is an ancient Christian Good Friday service that uses gradually diminishing light through the extinguishing of candles to symbolize the events of the week, from the triumphant Palm Sunday entry through Jesus' burial.

This increasing darkness symbolizes the approaching darkness of Jesus' death and hopelessness in a world without God. The service concludes in darkness, with a final candle, the Christ candle, being extinguished, symbolizing the death of Jesus and the closing of Jesus' tomb. The congregation will then leave in silence, ponder the impact of Christ's death, and await the coming resurrection.

One great hour of sharing

On Palm Sunday, April 13, we will take the One Great Hour of Sharing offering. A gift to One Great Hour of Sharing enables the church to share God’s love with our neighbors-in-need around the world by providing relief to those affected by natural disasters, providing food to the hungry, and helping to empower the poor and oppressed.

Beginning March 30, envelopes will be available in the MPR, in the Lobby outside the Sanctuary, and in the pews in the Sanctuary.

lilies

Easter lilies are traditional symbols of hope during Easter.  Sign up to donate or purchase a lily for $20 in honor or memory of a loved one.  The lilies will adorn both the Sanctuary and MPR on Easter Sunday.  A list of those being honored and remembered will be printed in the Easter bulletin. Lilies can be retrieved following the 9:30 & 11:00 am service on Easter Sunday.

Sign-Ups are available at the Information Desk in the Lobby or outside the MPR.  You can also call the church office.
